Software Security Engineer

Oivan is looking for an ambitious Software Security Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to design, develop and install software solutions. Ideally, the candidate should be able to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. Software engineers must be skilled in development, writing code, and documenting functionality. Based in a Finnish entity on secondment or relocation, you’ll support our 150+ headcount workforce across 5 countries. Oivan’s official language is English and fluency is necessary for success on the job. A strong dedication to teamwork and excellent cross-cultural communication skills are a must.

What you’ll do

  • Executing full life-cycle software development
  • Writing well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Producing specifications and determining operational feasibility
  • Integrating software components into fully functional software systems
  • Developing  software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Documenting and maintaining software functionality
  • Tailoring and deploying software tools, processes and metrics
  • Serving as a subject matter expert
  • Complying with project plans and industry standards

What you have

  • Proven work experience in as a computer software engineer or software developer
  • Hands on experience in designing interactive applications
  • Ability to develop software in C, C++, C#, Java or other selected languages
  • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
  • Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Mastery in software engineering tools
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications
  • Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
  • A degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Project Manager

Oivan is looking for a Project Manager familiar with Scrum (Scrum Master certification appreciated!) with at least 5 years of experience to join our growing web-development projects with our clients in Finland. Based in Helsinki, Finland, you’ll support our 180+ headcount workforce across 5 countries. Oivan’s official language is English and fluency is necessary for success on the job. A strong dedication to teamwork and excellent cross- cultural communication skills are a must. Employment is full-time.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as scrum process advisor and create partnerships across areas of the company and our clients including development team and product owners.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Agile and Scrum via conferences, seminars, training, webinars, and networking to research, apply and disseminate information, standard practices and new methods to teams.
  • Work with Product owners to develop and prioritize the development roadmap supporting enterprise applications.
  • This role involves working closely with our client product owners and various teams on how to use agile/scrum processes in helping the Oivan to be truly agile.

What you have

  • +5 years of project management in the software development industry or alternative.
  • Fluent English and Finnish.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to continuously acquire new competencies and accept new challenges as well as agility and flexibility in response to changing priorities and needs.
  • Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • A proven record of leading and supporting successful projects.
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team (microservices, architecture, mobile development etc.)
  • PMP or an equivalent Agile (PSM-1/2 etc. ) a big plus.
  • Familiar with JIRA/Confluence for dashboards, boards configuration, burndown, and similar tools.
  • Organizational, time management & customer relations development, and strong knowledge of project management such as planning, monitoring, and controlling skills.
  • Technical background or experiences in hands-on coding tasks is a plus.
