We are searching for an inspiring UX and Service Design Director to build and lead a team of designers. You’ll be responsible for applying strategic design thinking to deliver world-class design work for our international clients’ products and services.

As Design Director you’ll elevate our design craft and shape our vision, process, and frameworks for exceptional UX and service design across platforms and touchpoints. You’ll provide leadership and direction while interfacing with clients and a team of designers, working in collaboration with software developers and business analysts.

You will nurture client relationships, guide and inspire designers, and bring vision and harmony to our people, projects, workflows, and processes. You are a relentless spokesperson of design thinking and human-centered design, and you know how to relay the ROI of design.

You lead by example, bridging our clients’ business objectives with design drivers and design deliverables. You know how to build and maintain design systems; you look after the execution of our style guide. You help to improve our work by offering new angles and solutions. You know how to speak design and business. You inspire through passion, experience, and expertise. You have experience from working across time zones and cultures.

Must have

  • 10 years of experience working as a UX or Service Design Lead or Director in an agency or in-house setup.
  • You already know how to build, coach, and inspire design teams and more junior team members.
  • You know how to present and defend a design in the C-level boardrooms.
  • You have a proven track record in both as a designer and leading designers, and a design portfolio to highlight your accomplishments.
  • You know how to motivate, mentor, and foster growth of junior team members. You know how to empower people. You can successfully collaborate remotely in a global organization, among your colleagues and among your clients.
  • You understand the big company politics and can find ways to steer your team towards the right direction.
  • You can teach new things to junior team members and the executive team alike.
  • You know how to speak about and apply design thinking, customer journey mapping, qualitative and quantitative user research, user personas, service blueprints, wireframes, prototyping, usability testing, design systems, lean design, Figma, Sketch, Jira, Miro, responsive design, and design KPIs and OKRs.
  • You have the sense of aesthetic taste and attention to detail to steer the execution of our brand visual identity. Your English is fluent for a company spokesperson.
