Xin chào (hello)!

Since last year, we have been working hard at IWA to open a new office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The initial setup was completed in September when we received our ERC (Enterprise Registration Certificate). While I am writing this blog post we are six person strong and growing.

IWA is a born global company and most of our projects are born global too. This enables us to setup operations where best talent is available, in this case it’s Vietnam. In our work we always have project management close to the client but multinational project teams are often spread around several locations, depending on the skills and expertise required.

Operating globally is an integral part of IWA’s DNA. Our home base Helsinki, Finland is one of the hottest tech hubs in Europe and demand for talent is very high. Not only startups but also other companies need more people all the time. To tackle the challenge of recruiting the best talent, IWA set up it’s first development hub in Khon Khaen, Northern Thailand almost eight years ago. Now as IWA’s business continues to scale at a steady pace, we’ve expanded our horizons.

Vietnam is the 3rd largest country in Southeast Asia by population. It is home to 92 million people of which about 8.4 million live in Ho Chi Minh City and 7.4 in the capital Hanoi. Third biggest city is Haiphong with some 2 million people.

Ho Chi Minh City is not only Vietnam’s largest city by population but it’s also the number one commercial hotspot in the country. Although people of Vietnamese origin have been working internationally in the ICT industry for years, Vietnam is not well known for high technology. But as there is a growing pool of talented developers, UI/UX specialists and other digital transformation experts available, we see expanding to Vietnam as a great opportunity for IWA.

IWA’s office is located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, easily accessible and with a good selection of coffee shops, restaurants and other services nearby. If you are interested in working in Vietnam or are already working in Vietnam and looking for a change of pace and new exciting challenges with an international team, check out our Careers page. We’re excited to hear from you!
