I am Tuija Nuutinen, Director of people and operations in the Middle East. I am writing this while preparing to visit one of the most important IT security events in Dubai, Intersec, in Dubai World Trade Center.
Part of my job entails engaging with industry key persons, professionals, and enterprises to see what’s new and trending, to connect to wonderful talent, and to tell our Oivan story of being the Digital Force for Good.
My typical day when not attending events is full of speaking to talented IT professionals, participating in internal meetings with the People Operations team to map policies that make the candidate and employee experience better every day, to make people feel appreciated, and to be there for our colleagues in the Middle East for anything they need to succeed in their roles, and keeping the customers happy.
My calendar is filling with interviews and HR screenings but there is always room and flexibility to discuss personal career growth, learning, and development – this makes my day meaningful and I hope to make a difference. Word of mouth brings us wonderful talent, referred also via our clients who like what we do.
What exactly do they like? I think it must be our software craftmanship, high quality in everything we deliver, keeping our promises, and treating everyone with Respect and Fellowship – our Nordic values we live by.
Time to head out to the winter sun in Dubai with a smile!
See you around!
