Vietnamese Oivanites From Our Enhanced Distributed Team (EDT) Visited Our Key Client In Riyadh

Since 2018, Huy Nguyễn and many Oivanites from multiple offices have had the opportunity to build the advanced real estate digital platform, Sakani, for our client National Housing Company (NHC), which is transforming the lives of over a million citizens in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). In the first half of 2022 alone, approximately 90 000 families purchased a new home via the Sakani service.

Recently, Oivan and its most significant client NHC decided to arrange a trip for select development team members from our Hi Chi Minh City, Vietnam, office to visit Saudi Arabia. I was thrilled to embark on my first visit to KSA personally.

While working onsite at the Riyadh office, I met my local colleagues and partners and gained inspiring experiences from the daily lives of the local people.

With our client’s quality assurance (QA) experts, we organized a comprehensive workshop to discuss optimizing the system we are building. As a result, we agreed on improved testing processes to increase shared situation awareness and ways to reduce the number of ambiguous bugs.

I also supported the QA and Product Ownership teams at the Riyadh Office in the same room for the first time. We all felt it was more efficient and faster to troubleshoot problems and share ideas face-to-face. Presenting my deep knowledge of the product features in person felt fantastic.

The customer team also supported us by organizing a visit to the physical  Sakani center to see the impact of our hard work in real life.

Furthermore, I met with my local Oivan colleagues, with whom we previously exclusively communicated online. It was fantastic to hear about the industry experience and working style in Riyadh from fellow Oivanites.

In addition, some of the client’s team members and I also participated in outdoor activities such as playing Padel together. We also explored the local culture by attending traditional evenings and enjoying Middle Eastern cuisines like Kabsa, Shawarma, Arabic coffee, and dates. We also visited the Al Masmak Palace, a 150-year-old Al Masmak Fortress in the heart of the old quarter, to learn more how the Riyadh capital’s history.

This outstanding travel experience left a lasting positive impression on my mind, making me even more passionate about working harder and smarter to achieve the shared goals with our valued client NHC.
