Finnish digital transformation, design, and cybersecurity consultancy Oivan and SDAIA, a government agency seeking to enable and build a thriving ecosystem around data and AI in Saudi Arabia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a solid framework for future collaboration.

Oivan’s Digital Transformation Experience in Saudi Arabia

Oivan’s team has been enabling digital transformation in Saudi Arabia already for 25 years. In 1998 its team assisted King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technolog (KACST) in launching the internet in the Kingdom. Today, the company is supporting several key government entities to develop and operate leading e-government services, such as the Sakani and EJAR platforms of National Housing Company (NHC). Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, the 220+ person strong company has offices also in Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Thailand, and UAE.

Focus on Modern, Agile, Open-Source Software Development Methodologies

The cooperation with SDAIA will initially focus on modern, agile, open-source software development methodologies and processes. Subsequently, the work transitions to developing advanced working methods and culture based on our Nordic values, highlighting efficiency, reliability, and quality. Based on completing the first two milestones, there is also a plan to establish a Center of Excellence in Software Engineering for SDAIA.
